The project
Refurbishment and construction of the University of Lille 1 library, Cité Scientifique, Villeneuve d’Ascq, to establish a Learning Centre focusing on innovation:
- Major refurbishment and a 3,000 m² extension to the former University Library building and its surroundings.
- 3 centres: a 1,500 m² events venue dedicated to promoting innovation (including 220 m² of space dedicated to promoting innovation, two conference rooms seating 290 and 120 people respectively, and a reception area).
- A 300m² ‘Xpérium’ showroom
- A library area (with a set of classrooms to accommodate working groups).
Glass façades; asbestos in the joints of existing window frames that have been replaced
Extension built on deep foundations using hollow-bore piles.
Interior fit-out on deep foundations using micropiles.
